Medical Interests

In addition to treating gastrointestinal and liver diseases, Dr. Griglione specializes in Clostridium difficile (C. dif), swallowing disorders, acid reflux disease (GERD and Barrett’s Esophagus) and inflammatory bowel disease (e.g. Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis).
Furthermore, Dr. Griglione enjoys taking on diagnostically challenging cases. A self-proclaimed ‘bulldog’, he will find the answer – whether himself or by engaging the help of other specialists.

Medical Philosophy

For Dr. Griglione, it is important that his patients feel well cared for. He takes whatever time is needed to ensure his patients fully understand their condition and addresses all of their concerns. He then develops and discusses the care plan so patients are fully informed and comfortable when they leave his office.
Additionally, Dr. Griglione is responsive to his patients’ needs by providing quality care promptly - ‘because when you’re sick, you want to see your doctor ASAP’. He is committed to caring for his patients in a timely fashion – when they need him most.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Dr. Griglione enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing and racquetball. And with his pilot’s license, he often takes to the sky.

About Gastroenterologists

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine that focuses on the health of the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon or large intestine, liver, biliary tract and pancreas.

Some of the most common gastrointestinal disorders include GERD, Barrett’s esophagus, swallowing disorders, peptic ulcer disease, Celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diverticular disease, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatitis and liver disorders, pancreatitis, gallbladder and biliary disorders.

Gastroenterologists also perform screenings for colorectal cancer, the second leading cause of cancerrelated deaths among men and women combined. Such screening colonoscopies allow the physicians to remove polyps which are the precursors to colon cancer, and thereby, prevent the cancer.
