Medical Interests
Dr. Siitari provides comprehensive women’s health care. Her patients benefit from her family medicine experience because she uses that knowledge to provide preventive health care education. Her patients can then discuss in further detail with their primary care physician, if necessary. She enjoys taking care of her patients and wants them to feel that she is always there for them.
Medical Philosophy
Dr. Siitari believes that her relationship with each patient is a partnership and that they should work together as a team. She will explain the problem, and collectively they will decide the best treatment for the patient. She teaches her patients the skills and tools they need to stay healthy. Dr. Siitari’s patients appreciate the time she spends with them. She is easy to talk to and very thorough. She also wants patients to feel she is very approachable and available to her patients during their health care journey.
Personal Interests
When away from the clinic and hospital, she likes to garden, knit, sew and play with her grandchildren.
About Obstetrician and Gynecologist
An Obstetrician and Gynecologist (OB/GYN) is a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. Obstetrics is the medical discipline focusing on pregnancy and childbirth, and gynecology is the general care and management of the female reproductive system. OB/GYNs are usually well-versed in both areas.
An OB/GYN screens for diseases including cancers of the breasts, cervix, uterus, vagina and surrounding area. They also diagnose and treat female reproductive health issues that include menstrual issues, diseases of the breasts, uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries, as well as fertility problems, and premenstrual syndrome and menopause related issues.
An OB/GYN is a specialist who is also responsible for helping women have healthy pregnancies and healthy newborns. They perform surgical procedures such as C-sections and hysterectomies..
